Colt U.S. Model 1917, Caliber .45 ACP, Serial Number 1661XX, Inv 4891
This gun is exceptionally nice retaining about 96-97% of the original Colt military finish.
There is almost no significant blue loss. There is the usual light loss at the muzzle and some slight sharp edge silvering. In addition, several very small clusters of almost imperceptible surface pinpricks on the barrel. This in reality is the only detraction on the gun. The grip straps do show the beginning of some slight graying. The walnut grips are great, no splits or chips and appear to have all of their original lacquer. The frame and crane serial numbers match and the gun functions perfectly and locks up tight. The right rear of the frame is stamped with an Ordnance Bomb. The underside of the barrel with, United States Property, and the bottom of the grip U.S. Army and No. 17623. Inside of the frame and the crane are "C" stamped under the serial number. Just to the rear of the trigger on the frame a "C" is also stamped. The rear of the cylinder is stamped with an "H". The bore and the cylinders are razor sharp sunshine bright with flawless rifling, a worthy collector or a great shooter. Reduced to……. $1395
