This high quality Sword was manufactured by Eickhorn of Solingen and has the stamped squirrel holding sword TM. This Prinz Eugen features the closed winged Wehrmacht eagle and swastika at the pommel top, while the backstrap is plain barring a floral leaf and the bottom and an oak leaf on each of the grip tabs and the “P” guard has two large oak leaves in the center. The crossguard depicts a beautiful open winged Wehrmacht eagle, designed by artist Paul Casberg. The eagle couldn't be any better, with outstanding detail throughout. The eagle looks to the viewer's left and clutches a wreathed mobile swastika, nicely raised, in his talons. This piece measures 36 5/8″ when seated in its scabbard and has a 31″ blade length, a beautiful blade. The scabbard is dent free with 98% original finish, the sword comes with its portopee the way I purchased it from the vet. This sword will be the center piece in any sword or military collection and you'd have a hard time trying to upgrade it as it’s in Collectors Grade Condition. Inv.: # G 488 SOLD |
