Condition collectible,99.9% original bluing,working mechanics,nice lens,not typical for 100 or more years scope. Clear, sharp view. Dr.W.Gerard rifle scopes were produced in Germany prior to World War I for use on hunting and sporting rifles.With the onset of the war, Gerard scopes, along with many other previously manufactured sporting & hunting rifle scopes, were adapted by the German Army for use on their Scharfschutzen-Gewehr 98 Sniping Rifles. All Gerard scopes are scarce in the USA.
