Description:
This is an 1822 dated, original lock plate that has been nicely polished to armory bright and has crisp edges and markings including: “(eagle)/US” and “HARPERS/FERRY/1822”. The reverse of the plate has some light tool marks surrounding the curved pan cut and is extensively marked: “JV(or W)”, “S”, and “1”. The plate is in fine condition and would make a very nice decorative accent.
