Description:
This late 1870's yellow label two piece half split box is the second variation with "Short" in the cartridge cut. Label shows soiling and a few stains, lid has glue repairs. The side sealing label is about 75% side sealing label is about 75% present. Each side shows "No. 22 Short". Box contains one correct round with raised H headstamp and damaged tip on bullet. This scarce box is listed as a rarity-S (less than 10 known to exist) in R. Rains Winchester two=piece 22 boxes on page 15 and 16. This is listed in the Dunn upgrades as WRA-2-S-4-B.
