Description:
This bayonet is unmarked; the bright blade has some scattered staining with two tiny areas showing light pitting. The checkered leather grips show light wear. This Pattern has the grooved hilt with low 20.7mm ring for 1856 Short rifle. The scabbard is in very good condition with tight seam, scuffs and wear to leather and stained steel parts. The long pattern scabbard has a brown leather frog mounted showing light cracking and age. Hundreds of these were imported to both the Union and Confederate States of America during the 1860's. A fine bayonet for the collector.
