Description:
Fox A Grade 16 Gauge SxS Shotgun
ULTRALIGHT 5BLS 9OZ, NICE CLEAN GUN

General Specs: AH Fox, Year 1926, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 11oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 302465

The demand for small bore Fox guns has never been more intense.  Try and find a really nice, unmolested Fox graded 16 or 20 and you will see few that aren't buggered up in one way or another.  The Fox 16ga., built on a 20ga. frame, has earned it the reputation as being the finest handling of all American doubles, and this gun is no exception.  With the lightweight 26" #4 weight barrels it weighs in at 5lbs. 9oz. and balances perfectly between the hands.  THIS IS THE LIGHTEST 16GA. FOX I HAVE OWNED OUT OF HUNDREDS!  It is in really nice original condition at present, with perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, 95% factory blue, factory choked at a light IC/M (.006/.018), about 35% factory case color.  Many are unaware that less than 2500 A Grade 16's were produced, and most of the good ones are in safes and will not be offered for sale anytime soon.  Built in 1926, this Philly Fox, serial number 302465 is one of a dwindling number or really great original guns.  We are presently preparing to restore the wood, so by the time the gun is purchased the bumps and dings will all be gone and there will be a fine, hand rubbed oil finish on the original wood.  The value of Fox shotguns continues to climb and with the general high condition, this is a very sound investment vessel in which to plant some of your savings.  Carrying a fine little Fox like this over hill and dale after grouse, woodcock, pheasant and other upland game will be a delight for the next owner.  At the end of the day you will appreciate the ultra light weight and balance.  And...it is a gas to shoot to boot!
