Stephen Grant Best Sidelock Sidelever Ejector, 12 bore, 2 3/4" chambers, replacement 28" fluid steel barrels by the makers in 1960's and proved at 3 1/4 TONS and choked .010 IC and .027 IM, 14 3/4" LOP over a 1/2" Silvers pad, 1 5/8" DAC, 2" DAH, 1/4" cast off for RH shooter, 6 lbs. 11 oz., ejectors, double triggers, straight grip, splinter forend, smooth concave game rib, barrel tubes engraved "Stephen Grant & Sons" and "7 Bury Street, St. James's, London", automatic safety, "Safe" in gold, typical best Grant scroll engraving pattern, fluted carved fences with stylised acanthus leaves, drop points. Comes in a canvas and leather trimmed labeled case added when the barrels were made that shows the maker's label just after Atkin being added to the name and includes some case accessories. Bores measure .730 and .729, min. wall thickness .028 and .027. Excellent condition gun showing well kept finishes, sharp engraving, minor handling marks and a couple of small spots of missing blue on barrel. Circa 1893.
