Description: Browning Superposed 20 Gauge Lighting O/U Shotgun ROUND KNOB, LONG TANG, M/F General Specs: Browning Belgium, Year 1962, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 2oz, Over & Under Serial Number: 25447 The venerable Browning Superposed Lightning Model in Grade 1 and hard to find field chokes. Most of these guns are found with skeet chokes and are less desirable. As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1965, like this one built in 1962. This 6lb. 2oz. gun is all factory original and still retains about 95% overall condition with the metal closer to 97%, and the full length stock with factory horn butt plate. Guns built after 1965 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the manner in which Browning cured their wood. Not all guns were affected, but the market place still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs, and some even with square knob pistol grips. This is a great upland gun that is balanced to perfection and light enough to carry all day afield. The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value. Thanks for looking!
