Penrod - Tucker (Mark Penrod & James Tucker): A Complete and Total Custom 22-250 on a FN Mauser Solid Bottom Single Shot Action finished in 2011, This is all Penrod Metal and all Tucker Stock Work, 24" Krieger barrel, No open sights, Profiled Leupold type scope bases, Leica 3.5 - 14 x 42 scope, 2 position Chapman bolt sleeve safety on the right side, Excellent adjustable Blackburn trigger, Excellent custom trigger guard bow by Blackburn, Full custom bolt handle, Checkered bolt stop release; Heat blued extractor body, bolt stop spring and trigger bar, The action is detailed with excellent polish & finish inside & out that all has the touch of Mark Penrod, A pure James Tucker classic stock using a very nice piece of English walnut with excellent color & contrast, Shadowline cheekpiece, Full wrap around point pattern checkering with a mullered border, Jerry Fisher Steel grip cap, Ebony forend tip, Double screw tiedown sling eyes, 10 lbs. 5 oz., 14 5/8" LOP over a 5/8" pad; Penrod blueprinted the barrel and action, squared the action and squared up the bolt face, The action is finished to meticulous detail, The original blue remains at 99%, The original stock finish is at 96%, The checkering remains at 100%, The bore is excellent plus. The piece will shoot 5/8" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. The FN action is an original solid bottom single shot and not welded or made into a solid bottom. This is a very nice American Classic bolt rifle by a couple of guys that have made their mark as doing top drawer custom gun work. ////////////////////////////////// James Tucker lives in Medford, Oregon and is one of America's best stockmakers, he is pure classic in style and his inletting is almost perfect. I don't like the word perfect but this is getting very close. He is also an instructor and has shared his passion with many people looking for the right direction. Mark Penrod lives in North Manchester, Indiana and operates as Penrod Precision. He does excellent metal work and is known all across North America for precision work with accuracy from 22's on up. He is a competitive shooter as well.
