Merkel - Suhl - Made in Germany: An older and proper Suhl made Gebruder Merkel 20 Bore Boxlock Ejector SxS Model 47S Made in 1976 that remains unfired, 26" Spezial Gewehrlaufstahl Solid Rib Ejector barrels at .631 .011" & .025" (Skt.II & Full), Original 3" chambers, Side clip action body, Rib extension cross bolt, Bolstered frame, Double triggers, Splinter forend, Straight hand stock at 14 3/8 x 1 3/8 x 2 1/4" over the factory checkered buttplate, Slight cast-off for the right hand, 6 lbs. 4 oz., 85% floral & scroll engraving with bird scenes on the sideplates, A nice piece of wood with very good black to brown contrast, This piece is totally 1976 original and remains unfired, The original barrel blue is at 99.5%, The original stock finish remains at 99%, The checkering is at 100%, The bores are new. Here is a true Suhl Merkel that represents a better time-proven system than the current pieces after 2001 that cost 3 times more and are not the same mechanical gun.
