This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most iconic firearms of WWII. This is an absolutely mint, unissued, unfired example that has been in the same collection since 1989. Prior to this collection, the gun was part of a museum collection in Pennsylvania. This fully-functional, all-matching gun is a class 3  fully-transferable gun.  There were three main manufacturers of the MP40. Steyr made the majority of the MP40's, with Erma manufacturing the MP38 and MP40. Finally, Haenel, who ceased production in 1942. This example was made in 1942 by Erma, as evidenced by the later code of "AYF." There is zero wear on all the internal parts.  In a recent article by Peter Kokalis, he stated that a mint, museum example of an MP40 should sell for between $25,000 - $30,000. Very few of these were registered prior to the '68 Gun Control Act.
