This is the classic Marlin Model 1894 level-action rifle, chambered in .38-40 Winchester. The serial number is 3842XX, which places its date of manufacture circa 1908. This rifle has a 10-shot tube magazine and a 24-inch round barrel. The bore is excellent and bright with no pits. The metal retains about 80% of its original bluing and the stock has the original varnish finish and rack number "102" at the heel of the comb, just in front of the buttplate. This rifle also has a tang peep sight, as well as a buckhorn rear sight and silver blade front sight.
