Description:
A clean Davenport a Providence , R.I. maker bought by H&A,with a Norwich address, this single 10ga. has a very heavy 36" barrel with a clean bore, except for the mild corrosion and very shallow pits after the chamber area. Not sure the choke, no way to measure, but it is chambered for the 10ga. 3" shells. The action locks up tight. the metal overall is grey/brown patina with no rust present, but surface freckling from long term storage.This model has a re-enforced heavy breech but most likely made for black powder shells. The American hand checkered walnut wood is very solid and has age staining where the original varnish has lifted. The hand checkering is very sharp and the stock appears to have it's original finish. The LOP is 14 3/4"with the factory original Knights head black rubber butt-plate! This configuration is scarce with a 36" barrel , chambered for the 3" shell, and original butt-stock not refinished and original factory butt-plate!
