Description:
Original antique Winchester Model 1873 saddle ring carbine. Caliber 44-40. A Western classic! Carbine built in 1890. Iron parts have dark age patina. Wood unsanded, nice age patina. Wrist area of stock has small wood repair, well done upper left side. Barrel markimgs legible. Model 1873 on tang. Carbine has original folding rear sight, saddle ring and original dust cover. Butt has compartment for cleaning rod. Mechanics okay. This was obviously a cowboys working rifle, it has seen quite a bit of use on the ranch. Not warranted safe for shooting. Sold as a collector's item.
