The rifle has the "untouched from the attic" look. A very deep color on the frame. Bbl has an antique aged brown patina with scattered build-up and freckling. It has not been cleaned and looks awesome. Buttstock has some dings, scrapes and etc but very good overall cond. A light Henry bump is visible. Many pages of notes accompany this gun with military and family history. For example there is a roster of Company C from Illinois with the original owner is listed on. There is also family notes and a lot of other history. Very seldom do you see a history or pedigree on a gun like what this one has! Strangely enough it still has the orig cleaning rod in the butt! A very good collectable Henry. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
