The barrel is 1/2 round and 1/2 octogon, and is 10 1/2" long. The overall length of the gun is 18". There is a metal ramrod and the action is good. The walnut stock extends to the end of the barrel. There is a small loss of wood and some repairs on the right side near the end of the barrel There are some dings , a few small holes and a small crack on the left side near the trigger. None pf these greatly detract from the overall appearance and historical significance of this piece of history.. The metal is all steel except for a brass decorative piece on the left side. It is a .54 cal. weapon. The makers name ( Claude Camier) is clearly shown on the lock behind the hammer. While flintlocks are rapidly growing in value, I have priced this piece very reasonably as part of the sale of my large collection. This is an antique so no FFL is required. It can be sent directly to you.
