PENDING SALE: This is a stunning example of a Southgate Weatherby Mark V. The Claro Walnut on this one is striking, with fiddleback and other mineral streaks running the length of the stock on both sides.
I am told that this version is called the Classicmark II, with an American style straight-combed stock, upgraded wood, and rounded ebony forend cap. Records show this model was offered in 1992, but doesn't list the 7 Wby Magnum as a caliber offering.
The 7 Wby Mag is a versatile calier, handling ullet weight from 140 to 175gr in factory ammunition offerings. It's velocity and range can be compared to the 7mm Remington Ultramag, 7 STW, and 7mm Dakota.
