#165282, Winston Elrod Custom Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Chambered to a 35 Whelen, The action was made in 1950, 24" Stainless Steel Krieger barrel, Without open sights, Talley scope bases, Built-up bolt stop release, 3 position Model 70 wing safety, Classic style 2-panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, Model 70 trigger, Blackburn straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release that is one machined piece and not the Model 70 2-piece affair, An excellent Classic stock with wrap around broken point pattern checkering with a mullered border, Ebony forend tip, Double screw sling eyes in the butt and forend, Steel grip cap, Shadowline cheekpiece, 13 3/4" LOP over a Biesen checkered buttplate, 8 lbs. 14 oz. as is, The bore is excellent, The blue on the action is at 99%, The Elrod stock remains at 100%, The checkering is at 100%, This piece will produce 1" accuracy with Barnes 180 grain factory ammo. Winston Elrod knows what it takes to build a classic American bolt rifle, his inletting is excellent, his checkering is superb, it is clean and as sharp as you can find on any custom classic.
