Description:
S# Series 34-89089, 7.7 mm Japanese, 25 1/2 inch barrel, bright very good bore with sharp rifling and light frosting in grooves. This Toyo Kogyo, Hiroshima prefecture built rifle features many late war design modifications including wood butplate, short handguard, riveted front band, fixed peep rear sight, solid rear band, and no cleaning rod hole. Metal surfaces wear a dark patina, including the spot where mum was ground. Wood shows typical dings and marks with "ELS" carved into wood butplate. This stock is fitted for a butplate tang and is probably a previously rejected stock used in desperation.
