Description:
This round barreled 1895 has the Marlin proof mark on the underside of the barrel and safe/cocked indicator window on top of the bolt. Serial number range for these rifles starting at No. 1 and ending around 8200.The 1895 Savage was actually produced by Marlin until the Savage plant became operational. The 26" round barrel models are proported to be more scarce than the octagonal barreled models.

Metal Condition: The receiver has faded to a grey brown patina worn to the white at the carry points. The barrel is blue grey with scattered rust spots
Wood Condition: Butt stock and fore end show normal field marks with a small crack at the top tang and a pin repair at the fore end tip (as shown)
Bore Condition: Rifling has softened to a more polygonal shape and lightly frosted however, the bore seems quite shootable
