Description:
Maker marked D. LANONE on bottom edge of lock plate. With beautiful brass inlay on the steel barrel, lock plate & cock. All brass furniture is gorgeously decorated. The carving work on the stock is also very atractive, but not over done like some I've seen. The silver inlayed images in raised relief on the barrel, side plate, butt cap & trigger guard apear to have been the likness of an Italian Monarch or ruler of some sort. Unfortunatly the soft silver has worn to the point that the image is rather ghost like. Still, an impresive piece. I have not fired it.  But all functions of the lock work great. Springs are very strong. Flaws, ramrod missing, dent in butt cap, & there is a small patch of line scars in the barrel near the muzzel.
Overall 14" Barrel is 8 1/4"  long & 54 Cal. Trade? If it's awsome enough.
