Description:
This is a seldom seen Model 1861 Musket converted to 58 caliber rimfire by W and G Miller, West Meriden, Connecticut in 1865. Records indicate 50 were issued to the Maryland Militia and Schuyler, Hartley purchased 45 from the New York Militia arsenal. The lock is dated 1864 and the condition is 90% plus original finished in the white condition. The mechanical function is excellent and the bore is excellent, bright and shinny. Only about 2000 were converted by the Meriden Manufacturing Co. I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE?
