Description:
This is a custom built long-range rifle in the 6.5x284 caliber. It is equipped with a trued Remington Model 700 action and match barrel by Rock Creek, set in an HS Precision Varmint/Target synthetic stock. It has been fitted with one-piece bottom metal and detachable box magazine by Hooper Ordinance. The receiver is equipped with a Badger 20MOA Picatinney rail with 30mm Badger rings, along with an extended knurled bolt. The heavy barrel is free-floated, and wears a DE brake, and the stock has 2 forward sling mounts to accommodate a bipod. The stock bag is included in the sale.
The rifle weighs 10.6 lbs as shown, with a LOP at the industry standard of 13 5/8ths". All metalwork is coated in Olive Drab, and the stock and rings are camo'd in a complimentary color scheme.
The rifle has exactly 64 rounds through it since new. It shoots the 140gr Berger VLDs very well behind Retumbo. The trigger is crisp, with no take-up or over-travel, and breaks at about 2 lbs.
The 6.5x284 is a very popular long range caliber, holding its velocity and stability at extreme ranges with today's high BC bullets. Most custom target/sniper rifles run in the $4,500-$6,000 range when ordered. This one came to me in a good deal, so someone will benefit from that at its listed price.
