Description:
According to Fladerman's Guide there were only 4,021 of these pistol and carbine combinations manufactured, and they were only produced 2 years, 1855 and 1856. This example is completely original, including the stock which is very hard to find and was often reproduced. The metal parts which were issued in "the white" have an even gray/brown patina, and the markings including the 1856 date are all legible. The Maynard tape primer unit is intact, but the door hinge is a bit loose. The lock functions perfectly and could be shot today. These rigs are 159 years old and after going thru the entire Civil War there is no telling how many of the 4,021 produced are still in existance.
