Description:
original Ames USN 1870 Remington Rolling Block Bayonet, bayonet stamped Ames Mfg, Co. / Chicopee / Mass. and U.S.N. / G.G.S / 1870. The bayonet is also stamped A on the pommel, GGS in front of the slot and S on the guard. The blade measures 20 1/8" tip to hilt and has never been sharpened, there are a few very minor nicks on the edge along with several areas of a peppery to shallow pitting. This bayonet weighs 1 lb 9 ounces. The overall condition is good - good plus. Inv.: # US 624
