Description:
Serial #6038, .22 RF, 2 1/2” barrel cluster with excellent, bright bores. This is a splendid little matching numbered pistol that has 90-95% of the original bright blue remaining on the barrels mixing with some mild freckling along the rounded sides, and some traces of plum-brown fading as well. The frame retains nearly all of its original silver plate finish with a series of dark specks, mostly on the right side, and a single casting flaw on the top of the backstrap just below and to the right of the hammer. The moulded vine pattern gutta-percha grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and are in excellent shape with only negligible wear. This pistol is only 94 numbers higher than the lowest known 1A with the circular Sharps markings on the frame. Likewise, the mechanism is tight and functions flawlessly. This is an absolutely fantastic example of a Sharps 1A pepperbox, with nearly all of the original finish remaining, and would make a great addition to any collection. {Ref.
