Here is an fairly early (1940) Winchester model 62-A that shots 22 short long and long rifle interchangeably. It is also a takedown and so is handy for backpacking and hiking. The pictures tell the story. The only place there is ANY blue wear is a small area where the forearm slide enters the receiver. The rest is REAL blue – shiny bright blue – not patina or plum or transitioning or brown or rust or wear or any of those polite excuses for a deteriorating original finish. Bore is as you would expect – fine. I have seen 62s that were perhaps one or two % higher condition with prices that were TWICE AS much as mine or even MORE! This is honest value. To up grade from the condition of this Winchester would be splitting hairs. It has decent looking wood – not fancy – but better than average. I DOES require an FFL or C&R license.
