Description:
At one time Crescent Firearms was the western hemisphere's largest shotgun maker. Much of it's inventory was sold through the largest retailer in the U.S. Sears and Roebuck! This is an unusual side hammer 12ga. single with LONDON FINE TWIST, roll died on the top of the barrel which is very thick. Hammer and action works good as well as the gun locking up tight. The barrel is blue turning to silver grey, and it may have been re-blued log ago. The 29 3/4" metric length bore has fine freckles from black powder use, but not pitted. The choke is MOD, and the chamber is for the older 3" shell. This is a black powder shell shotgun. The America stocks are plain and dark with age. The LOP is 15 1/4" with a black hard rubber checkered factory installed butt-plate. I've seen many Crescent singles but this gun may have been a special model as I've never seen it before and the Meriden factory was about 35 miles from here.The hammer screw head has half missing but the hammer is one very snug!
