They were the forerunner of the "Boy Scout" and military rifles which also are scarce! The Cadet is similar having musket style look with long wood and 28" bbl. The difference is the Cadet did not come with the top wood or bbl band. Production was very limited in 1911 and 1912. This is a fine example with aging blue starting to turn just a bit plum. Some wear and age marks towards the muzzle. Frame is orig case color with light remnants of color remaining. The rest has turned a brown/grey. Bore is dirty and needs a good cleaning and may clean up. Wood is way above average. Butt stock has a nice fit with a couple of very light hairline cracks coming off the frame. Forearm is in good cond with just light crack coming off on the right. There is a rub area on the left. Small petite sling swivels which are correct for this gun. This would fit into any 22 cal collection and especially if you are into rolling blocks. Leroy Merz Antique Firearms specializes in antique and vintage Winchesters and other fine American firearms.
