Germanic Flintlock Horseman’s Pistol (15-74)
Germanic style original flintlock horseman’s pistol, .75 Caliber 11 ½” barrel, all iron fixtures, with large German silver escutcheon ornately engraved on wrist, very early convex banana lock, Antique made, circa 1750. Very long stirrups from butt cap up to teardrops carved behind tang and on both sides of wrist, behind lock and plate on left side. Still in original, untouched, unpolished condition, wood stock has original ramrod, has a few hairline cracks. Engraved and deeply chiseled on lock and hammer. Metal has brown patina but no corrosion or pitting. Style of trigger, lock, and hammer marks this as mid of early 18 century. See massive Gargoyles carved into butt cap. Very ornate and early, and hard to find. Nice original condition. (15-74) $750.00
