SUPERIOR CASED PAIR OF PERCUSSION DUELLING PISTOLS SIGNED DEVISME, PARIS CA. 1840’S. .50 caliber 10” rifled octagon Damascus barrels signed “DEVISME ARGR BT. ITALIEN PARIS”. Exceptional quality with RARE GAME SCENE engraved locks. Floral engraved steel mounts and carved ebony stocks. Set triggers and front and rear sights. Original walnut case with original red velvet lining and all the original accessories. Superb all original condition with the pistols retaining all the coin finish and much original brown on the barrels. Stocks in near mint condition. Fine working order, including the triggers and near mint bores. Guns alternately numbered “1” and “2” in gold at their breeches. Case excellent with the exception of the lid escutcheon which is lost. Accessories in excellent condition. F. P. Devisme was one of the most famous Paris makers of the 1800’s. His shop was on the Rue des Italien-thus the barrel address. Superb pair.
