Description:
Serial #13285, 10 ga., 32” barrels with good-very good bores having light freckling and pinprick pitting along their length. This is a nice looking gun that has 75-80% of the original Damascus pattern remaining on the doll's-head equipped barrels with light brown freckling throughout the otherwise pewter gray patina. The lightly engraved frame has double game birds ahead of the hammers with cartoon-like running dogs in oval vignettes behind on both sides. The walnut forend and buttstock have a dark brown varnish finish that has flaked in some areas. There are small handling marks and blemishes throughout, most noticeably on the buttstock, and moderate flattening to the checkering points (mainly on the forend). The lock-up is still fairly tight although there is a small amount of lateral play in the barrels. This is a handsome big bore shotgun and would make a great display piece for a study or gunroom.
