Description:
Parker AHE .410 Gauge SxS Shotgun
BEAVERTAIL, SST, ENGLISH STOCK, NICE!

General Specs: Parker, Year 1941, .410 Gauge, 6lbs 2oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 242054

Parker Brothers and later, Remington/Parker, produced a total of ONE AHE .410, and NOT ONE as a SKEET GUN.  Knowing that the collector/shooter has no chance of ever owning an AHE Parker .410, no matter how much money one might have, an upgrade allows one to fill a hole in a collection or have one of the most handsome of the small bore original Parkers to shoot.  Many "craftsman" attempt upgrades, some quite well, most "not so much".  This gun was upgraded by Larry Del Grego in 1981.  No upgrade could be more authentic than one by Larry Del Grego Sr.  Del Grego worked for Remington/Parker Gun Works since 1934, leaving  in 1955 to start his own business repairing and restoring Parkers.  Remington designated his shop the official Parker repair station.  Other senior craftsman from Parker  joined with Del Grego in the 1950's, including Walter Nalenzy, stockmaker, Samuel Kencharek, metal finisher, and Robert P. Runge, chief engraver.  The experience of these last of the Parker employees places a Parker upgraded by Del Grego in a separate class from other upgrades.  The value of an upgraded gun built at Del Grego's shop is supreme.  This fine AHE started as a VHE .410 on a "OOO" frame with SST and ejectors and was upgraded to an exact likeness of a Remington Era AHE.  In the world of Parker shotguns the .410 is the pinnacle.  They made only 568 .410 Parkers in all grades, 469 in VH Grade, with only about 80 of those with ejectors and less than 20 with single selective triggers.  When considering Skeet configured guns, they made a total of 81 .410’s in all grades, with 64 of them being VHE's.  The Parker being offered up for sale in this ad, sn242054 built around 1941, is a very rare Parker even in its original VHE configuration.  Certainly one of the last Parker VHE .410's ever produced and in near new mechanical condition.  With this gun you have a chance to own an original Parker .410 ejector gun beautifully engraved and stocked to perfectly duplicate an AHE of this date and era.  You can see photos of this engraving and wood carvings in "THE PARKER STORY", the set of books that is considered to be the "bible" on Parkers.  They match this gun to the "T".  What a quail/woodcock/grouse gun, and gun to shoot skeet at the local club!  A great investment that will always be desirable.  Thanks for looking.
