Description:
This Creedmoor match rifle is assembled around a Falling Block Works action. The fancy walnut stock has a checkered pistol grip. The buttstock has a wide flat hard rubber buttplate. The 34" heavy weight round barrel will help to reduce recoil. Excellent quality Axtell long range Vernier elevation and windage adjustable tang sight, and windage adjustable globe front sight are fitted.
The 34" round Douglas barrel is chambered for .45-90 Sharps cartridge with a throat for a paper patched bullet. The barrel has a 1 in 16" twist making it ideal for use with a 500 grain or other heavy weight bullet. The .45 caliber bore is bright and clean.
The Axtell tang sight has 3-1/2" of elevation with windage adjustment on the eye disk. The front sight is fitted with a globe front sight with spirit level. The front sight is also adjustable for windage. The sight has a bead post insert installed. A set three additional Axtell inserts is included.
The fancy walnut stock is fitted with a tall flat hard rubber buttplate. The pistol grip stock has a hand checkered wrist with a hard rubber grip cap. The forearm is shaped with a Schnabel tip.
Trigger reach is 14-1/4" to fit a larger or taller shooter. Weight is 15.3 pounds.
The wide buttstock tapers into the pistol grip. The tang of the action is fitted with a Axtell Vernier tang sight. The falling block is polished bright and the action is finished to a plum brown. The 34" barrel is finished to a rust blue. The barrel finish does have some handling marks along the centerline of the barrel on the right hand side.
The triggerguard lever drops the breech block and cocks the action. A extractor presents the cartridge for easy removal. The hammer comes down to the half cock position when the lever is raised and the action closed.
Other than the adjustments on the Vernier tang sights this rifle is symmetrical which makes it ideal for either a right or left hand shooter.
