Description:
Serial #58281, .303 British, 25" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some very minor freckling within the grooves at the muzzle. This non-import marked rifle lacks government property and inspection marks and is simply marked "B.S.A. Co." on the wrist with the metal retaining about 45-50% of the original blue that has blended smoothly with a plum-brown patina on the balance as well as having some lightly faded and frekled gray metal along the underside of the nosecap and the remaining exposed edges and projections. Mild freckling is present on the matching numbered, "B.S.A." marked bolt and there is some minor pinprick pitting on the handle. The walnut handguards and forend have numerous small handling marks and small blemishes under the old military oil finish. The buttstock is devoid of government property markings or stamps, although a rack number is present on the stock disk (255), and a single 10 rd. magazine is included. This is a fine example of a commercially made SMLE and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
