Description:
S# 174368, 22 long, 24 inch barrel, very good bore with a few patches of erosion. This second model takedown 1890 receiver was serial numbered in August 1903. Features include lower tang serial number placement early (no collar) mag tube, standard second model sights, case colored crescent butplate and black walnut stocks. receiver and barrel show Winchester proofs and barrel has eighth type markings used after 1922. This indicates rifle was factory rebarreled. receiver retains 70% blue, fading brown on tangs , belly and across top. Hammer shows strong case colors on sides. Barrel and mag tube show 90% blue. Wood is sound with 80% finish.
