Description:
This is a Spanish Blunderbuss pistol dating from early to mid 18th C. (Please note that I was in error when I titled this item as being a "Miquelet". It is not, but the site will not let me change the title) Lock & barrel are decorated in raised relief with silver inlay. The stock is covered with silver wire inlay. The thimbles to the false ramrod look to be carved ivory. The bore at the breach before it funels out is larger than my 75 caliber Tower barrel. It's 1 1/4" at the muzzel. Lock works great. Holds cock in both positions. Gets good spark, springs are strong. BUT! The pan & fizzen have been majorly messed with. I think the pan is original to the lock, but it must have been damaged & repaired. I managed to make it almost seal at the side. But where the fizzen meets the barrel it isn't close. I see no reason why it wouldn't fire. But if you load and holster it, you'll loose the pan charge. Fixable? Beyond me. Someone who's better at brazing than the guy who tryed to fix it the first time.  Overall length 15 5/8" barrel 8 5/8" See way more pics on Guns America
