Description:
Colt 1860 Army 44cal. percussion revolver serial #71988 all numbers match. This handgun is in very good condition and includes a letter of authentication from Colt Manufacturing documenting the production and historical disposition of the weapon. All serial numbers are clearly legible, as is the script on the barrel, frame, cylinder, handgrips, and the etching of the cylinder scene. This gun is in full working order and fireable. The authentication letter documents that this weapon was part of a shipment of 1,000 handguns of the same model purchased by The United States War Department, shipped to Maj. F.D. Callender of the St. Louis Arsenal Nov. 7th 1862. Additionally the letter documents the shipment of this gun as part of a shipment of 100 guns to Lt. William O.
