Description:
Serial #937, 8 x 50R, 29" barrel with a very good bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves. The metal retains 95% of an overall arsenal re-applied blue finish over some scattered mild pinprick pitting and some dark brown freckling and light oxidation on the buttplate. The rifle is correctly marked with the Siamese Chakram and Koishikawa Arsenal (Tokyo) symbol (Siam had contracted the Japanese to produce these rifles and they all have Japanese arsenal markings). The stock and handguard rate fine with scattered small bruises and handling marks in the original varnish finish. The cleaning rod is missing but the sliding sheet metal dust cover is still in place. These are well made rifles that were often converted to .45-70 sporters in the U.S. but this example is in its original configuration and rates very good-near fine condition. FFL or C&R.
