Winchester Model 70 Super Grade .30-06 Sprg. s/n: 412xxx (ca. 1957) 24" bbl. (properly stamped "Super 30-06" on bottom of the barrel) w/ hooded ramp front sight and dovetail rear sight, Super Grade stock w/ right hand cheekpiece, wrap checkering on forearm and pistol grip, Super Grade sling swivels and black forend tip, original butt pad has been replaced w/ a later, but correct, red Winchester pad, gun is marked -Super Grade- on floor plate and .30-06 SPFLD on barrel address, jeweled bolt body and follower, and hollow bolt handle. topped w/ a Balvar 8 scope and mounts on factory drilled and tapped action; scope was probably put on the gun when it was bought!
Bore is near perfect, metal blue is about 85% to 90% showing its age a bit but no rust, pitting or scratches to speak of. Original Super Grade stock's condition is consistent with the metal blue and about 80% showing 50 years of use but in remarkably good condition being that this gun was owned by a long time Texas mule deer outfitter and guide. Solid old rifle with a desirable patina and another 100 year of service left in it...no problem.
