Description:
For the advanced collector offered here is a very unique Winchester 1873.  Serial #703XXXB is a standard 24” octagon barrel rifle in .44-40, which was manufactured in 1916 per a Cody letter, which is included.  This rifle, with the exception of minor flaking on both sides of the receiver, which was a manufacturing issue prevalent during the years of World War I, is STONE COLD MINT!  When I acquired this piece from the late Don Schofield, noted collector and dealer, he said this Winchester was possibly unfired.  Subsequently, I sought the best expert guidance available, and gave this rifle to a highly regarded and eminent appraiser and antique firearms dealer for further review. After a full and thoroughly detailed inspection, it is his considered professional opinion, there is no evidence, whatsoever, that this Winchester has ever had a round put through it!  Imagine that: new and unfired!  If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind Winchester 1873 for your collection this one is it!   Feel free to contact Seller with any questions.

NRA Rating:  EXCELLENT: All original parts; over 80% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood; unmarred wood; fine bore.
