Description:
Cal 40-82, oct bbl, full length mag tube and crescent buttplate. 4 digit serial number and was built in 1887. A pretty good looking rifle with an pleasing aged patina. The bbl and mag tube are a blue/brown color. Bore is fair to good cond. Fairly decent rifling. Some scattered light pitting and roughness but somewhat shiny. Nice smooth receiver metal which of course was case colored and has turned a nickel/grey color. Wood matches the cond of the rifle being good. One light chip out of the bottom corner. A couple small chips missing in the corners. Some gouges up in the comb area. Some scratches and dings but overall nice solid good wood. This rifle is old and looks it but has aged gracefully.
