This listing is for a Winchester ‘1905 SL’ in .32 WSL - SN 19997 (3rd year of production / 1907) rifle.
*** The rifle is 108 years old, and all original! It is in excellent mechanical condition; functions flawlessly, with perfect, sharp rifling: Cosmetically, it is excellent over-all! The wood is beautiful... typical of the early Winchesters: With only insignificant very TINY Dents and Scratches. The sole ‘sign of age’ is a TIGHT, small 3” crack on the left side of the fore end; shown clearly in the pictures. The overall ‘Bluing’ is also ‘excellent’; with only a ‘scratch’ on the top of the receiver (se picture). And again... for 108 years old... even the ‘butt plate’ is excellent! Why am I selling?? Read on...
*** I have the complete set of four Winchester Self Loading (WSL) rifles: 1905 - .32 WSL, 1905 - .35 WSL, 1907 - .351 WSL and the ‘big one’, the 1910 - .401 WSL (1st year of production). These are displayed on a ‘Vintage’ 4 gun rack, with ‘Vintage’ ads from the early 1900s. I have two 1905 - .32 WSL rifles: #1. Is the 1st year of production - 1905 - SN 5953; #2. Is the 3rd year of production - 1907 - SN 19997. This listing is for my Favorite of the two, however... having a 1st year model is also rewarding. I cannot have both; the ‘gun rack’ is only for 4! <grin>... but I am ‘torn’ between the 1st year in good condition; and the 3rd year in excellent condition! So... I am listing both, and which everyone sells first, I’ll cancel the listing on the other, and keep it!
