Description:
A percussion shotgun with a 45" bbl and overall length of just under 62". Weighs in at 14+ lbs and is approximately a 6 bore. The only markings on the gun are "Charlton Brothers" on top of the bbl. Quite ornate with an attractive twist pattern on the bbl. There is a large Sun symbol and some other engraving on the tangs and on the lock and chamber portion of the bbl. All metal is smooth and nice. The ferrules for the cleaning rod have been soldered on. These guns had a lot of recoil which probably loosened them up. The orig or at least very old ram rod is still with the gun. The lock works well. Wood is in good shape. A very dark dirty bore with spider webs in it that looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a century. You can have a lot of guns hanging on your wall but a Punt Gun is certainly a good conversation piece!
