(SALE PENDING as of 8-2) Belgium Browning, Superposed 20ga Lightning O/U
This is a very nice all original 1962 Belgian Made Browning Superposed Lightning, 20ga. with 26” barrels chambered 3”, fix choked in Skeet/Skeet, #26xxxV2 A tremendous little upland gun, that hasn't’t seen the light of day in 25 years, but designed to last an eternity!
The metal of this gem is a very good, with very little thinning of the “Belgian Blue” finish, and is without blemish (Browning Haydn’t even though of “salt” curing wood in 62)! The receiver, the receiver bottom, and the trigger guard, are all nicely “arcaded” with Browning’s traditional engraving. The characteristic forend slide marks are evident on the barrels at the forend, but overall the metal is very, very nice. Not a screw head on the entire shotgun, has so much as sniffed a turn screw, and are completely unmarred and line up like it was their first day in school.
The “long tang” trigger guard, surrounds the single 24k gold serrated trigger. The barrel selector switch is incorporated in the top tang safety as usual. LOP is a smidgen, over 14 1/4"
A Browning factory butt plate is at the end of the wood stock. Bores are bright, with barrels sporting a full length ventilated rib with the distinctive “Browning” matt finish (unmarred) on top of them, and a .09 Silver bead adorning the front of the tubes.
The gun’s wood and finish is original! The wood finish is intact, it’s bright, and the gun was made with a nice piece of walnut, again without any significant “wear patterns” of any sort, but she carries some minor"Aspen" bruising from normal field use.
The round knob pistol grip, and forend are checkered with Browning’s customary Point pattern checkering and again, are without blemish!
Overall this gun is a superb Gentleman’s field gun! She’s clean, tight, bright, and light, a joy to shoot, and a dream to carry. If you’re an upland hunter, these skeet bores will have the skies raining “ruffs and Timber doodles” We’ve priced this piece so someone could hunt with an investment! It’s a quick sale at $ 1999.00
