Top of barrel stamped “967” at the breech as well. Lock stamped behind the hammer “TOWER” and under the pan stamped with the Royal Ordnance Acceptance “CROWN/BROAD ARROW”. The George IV “CROWN/GR” cypher is stamped in front of the hammer. All markings crisp and clear. All original and complete except the ramrod which is an old replacement and the forward sling swivel which is missing. Very good plus with all the original lock parts. Stock with all the original patinated finish with various period of use dents and old carved initials. Working order and good bore. The last of the Brown Bess Flintlock muskets with many still in use into the late 1840’s. SOLD Antique: Yes |
