JOAB HAPGOOD, BOSTON MASS. PERCUSSION DOUBLE 10 GAUGE SHOTGUN CIRCA 1850’S. Well known Shrewsbury and Boston maker of high quality rifles and shotguns. Best known for his target rifles and his waterfowl guns of which this is. Weighs 11 lbs. Game scene engraved locks signed “HAPGOOD”. 29” Damascus barrels engraved on the rib “HAPGOOD, BOSTON”. Beautifully engraved steel mounts and barrels with platinum vents and gold bands. Very good overall with finish a dark old reblue. Hammer screws replaced and ramrod is modern. Walnut checkered stock of high quality with nicely patinated original finish. Locks in working order and good bores.
