Description:
Title of this revolver is from page 47 of Goforth's book on Iver Johnsons.Iver Johnson collectors note that this is a side latch First Model  from the first year introduction of 1893.I based that on the 4XX number on frame under left grip. And oddly there is also a 8XXX number stamped on butt. This has a nice heavy nickel which is mostly on frame and barrel.Nickel mostly missing from cylinder and cleaned up some; could be cleaned up more..Works single and double action and cylinder has usual looseness in lock up.Also, when removing cylinder one has to hold it as cylinder catch is worn at tip which holds cylinder down. This is a simple part which could be made from hand tools if a replacement part cannot be found.Light pitting in barrel and cylinder chambers.I sell this antique revolver as a collectors' item. If intending to use ,one should have a gunsmith check out. Though an antique, some Cities and States  require an F.F.L. .     Grips are excellent.   SALE PENDING
