Description:
A nice pair of percussion  pistols, believed to be dueling pistols made in Belgium around 1850. They are both in excellent condition. Both walnut stocks are nicely checkered and both have some professional repairs made to the left sides There is some decorative carving  around the bottom of each grip just above the cap boxes. . The actions are both strong. # 279 is missing a percussion cap. The 7&1/2" octogonal barrels are  bright with some pitting.   The locks and hammers are  probably silver and are engraved. The trigger guards and cap boxes are brass and are also engraved. The metal ramrods look to be originals. The  barrel tangs are also engraved. They are approx. .55 caliber. The overall length of each is 12& 1/2". A handsome pair at a  below market price.
